TAX PLANNING SPECIALIST AND INVESTMENT ADVISER REPRESENTATIVE
When you make the decision to retire, you also make Social Security and investment decisions. With proper planning, it is possible to pay zero taxes on this income. For over 30 years, Pat has been helping the families, individuals, and business owners of Chippewa Valley keep more of their money by planning for their taxes instead of just paying them.
As a licensed investment adviser representative with a degree in accounting, Pat can provide detailed and comprehensive wealth management advice to improve the tax efficiency of your retirement accounts. By reviewing current assets, understanding how Social Security income is taxed, and looking at options for Roth IRA conversions, Pat takes pride in his ability to help people see the bigger picture. As the tax specialist at Family Financial, he goes beyond the filing of tax returns to schedule time outside of tax season to help educate clients about ways they can improve their financial standing. In this way, he helps people accomplish their goals while taking on less risk, so more of this money stays in your pocket.
As the owner of Poeschel Accounting, Pat also works during the regular tax season with individuals and families, specializing in the opportunities and challenges of small business owners and farmers to do more effective tax planning. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with a degree in accounting, Pat also holds his Series 66 and 7 licenses because he has always believed that taxes are about more than just filling out the paperwork.
In 2018 he partnered with Family Financial where he serves with a fiduciary responsibility over client funds. With over 30 years of tax experience, he gives the firm a decided advantage when helping people to plan for retirement because running out of money remains the number one concern.
A native of Mondovi, Pat is married to Erin Poeschel, an educator, interpreter, and DHH services specialist at Chippewa Valley Technical College. Together they have one daughter and two sons. The oldest son Jake and his spouse Jenna are partners with Pat and Erin in a poultry farm where they all work together to manage 50,000 chickens. When not in the office or helping his son care for the chickens, Pat can be found out west hunting deer and elk.
